The Premier League side confirmed the arrival of the US international on a temporary deal that will be valid until the end of the 2023-24 season. The attacking midfielder, who has played just 360 minutes of the current campaign, will hope to see more minutes after his switch to the Premier League.

The official statement from Forest read: "Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of Gio Reyna from Borussia Dortmund. The 21-year-old has joined the club on a loan deal until the end of the season."

The 21-year-old was also linked with a move to Sevilla, but transfer talks with the Spanish club broke down which led to him choosing the English side. Fiorentina and Marseille were also keen on signing the youngster. Reyna has played 14 games this season for the German club but is yet to score a goal or provide an assist.
